We know you’re into politics. How’s that you ask? Because like it or not politics affects you personally at almost every turn in your life. Yes, you may not like some politicians, the endless negative ads or the gobs of money, but you have your opinions and you support your guy (or gal), certain policies or just like the campaign camaraderie during political races and, most of all, voting for who or what you believe in. Solitical loves all of this too and wants to give you a way to reach out and do something about it on a big time scale.
This site is for anyone and everyone (yes, republicans and democrats and libertarians and the green party and…you get the point) who has the will to engage with friends and opponents alike on the policy and elections that affect us every day. We’re not here to focus on family vacations or the latest reality TV episode, although you’re welcome to discuss whatever you like, our hope is that everyone here will make an effort toward positive discussion and action for all things politics and politician related.

Former Speaker Tip O'Neill once said that 'All politics is local,'' and we believe that is still true today in our interconnected world. While you care about who is President, Governor and your Congressman, you also care about your Mayor, school board, city council and the dog catcher. You care about what is going on in DC, but you care just as much about what is going on in City Hall and your neighborhood. But often times, local politics and the bigger picture gets lost in the mix in the constant battle for sound bites, ratings, negative attacks and empty rhetoric . We were tired of that and we think a lot of other people are too. By finding others (locally, statewide or nationally) in your community, Solitical can help you engage and influence the political process at any level you’re interested.
Solitical exists to give you the power to follow national, state and local politics in a meaningful way. See who your elected officials are and what they are doing. Join with other Solitical users to follow and stay informed on issues that matter to you, nationally or locally, and act together when action is called for.
Solitical is non-partisan, we don't have an agenda and don't push content, anyone and everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate, the more and more diverse, the merrier. We let you create the content based on what matters to you or what you’re curious about, decide who to engage and what to believe. We’re here to provide a platform for you and a place to start the conversation. From there it’s up to you to change things from the inside out, from the ground up. All we ask is that you be respectful of others and stay engaged in the political process, otherwise we’re all right back where we started and that’s no fun.

So you have this nice, shiny new toy to connect and learn and engage with one another. It is now up to you to create change together. You still have the power in this process with your vote. A little cliché? Maybe, but it’s true, but you’ve got to talk to each other (like grown-ups) and remember that at the end of the day we’re all in this together for better or worse. We’re optimistic.
